Meet Our Winners - #WEAUDITIONACTORSPROEXPOVIRTUAL2025

We’re thrilled to spotlight the talented performers who will take the virtual stage this July 10 - 12 at WeAudition: Actors Pro Expo Virtual 2025! These bold, brave actors submitted monologues that moved our panel of industry judges — Kate Bone, Suzanne Smith, and Lizzy Fieldhouse — and now, they’re gearing up to perform live at the Expo. From last-minute decisions to heartfelt vulnerability, their stories remind us that big things can happen when you press "send."

Tell us about your audition piece, and how you felt posting it?

My audition piece comes at the end of the play where my character is talking to her dad and how she regrets how she spoke to her mother earlier. I was slightly nervous as I had never posted a speech before and I wasn't sure if it was good enough. But I just thought, "Just go for it, and I'm glad I did.

What was your reaction when you found out you'd been picked by our panel of judges?

Gobsmacked! Shocked! Lost for words! Overjoyed! Happy!

How are you feeling about your upcoming performance at the virtual expo?

Nervous! But I see it as a once in a lifetime opportunity.

What is your advice to anyone considering applying to perform at one of our upcoming expos?

Just go for it! You never know who’s watching or where that first impression might lead.

What will you be performing, and why did you pick this piece?

I’m currently deciding between two monologues, both feel incredibly personal and relatable to me. I want to choose the one that challenges me the most while still feeling authentic. Whatever I go with, I’m excited to push myself and hopefully connect with the audience.

Tell us about your audition piece, and how you felt posting it?

My audition piece is from one of my favourite rom-com movies, Love, Rosie. When I applied, it was a very last-minute decision. I kept umming and ahhing about whether or not to submit my tape and then I thought, screw it, what have I got to lose? To have my work viewed by inspiring industry professionals is an amazing opportunity, and would be a shame to miss.

What was your reaction when you found out you'd been picked by our panel of judges?

In truth, I submitted my audition piece without any expectations of being selected. So when I woke up and saw a DM saying that I had been selected by the panel, I could not believe it. In this industry, you work so hard and face a lot of rejection, and so it is a nice feeling to know that persistence and hard work really does pay off. I was so happy and grateful to have been selected by the panel.

Tell us about your audition piece, and how you felt posting it?

I created a comedy character, Shiny Bob, to simply have some short form content for Instagram. I figured that since my audience was mostly showbiz people I should make fun of showbiz stuff. Thus, Shiny Bob is an acting coach that gives really bad advice. I saw the post on Instagram from Actors Pro Expo calling for submissions and I thought, "Why not?" I had completely forgotten about my submission when I got notice that I had won a live performance spot.

What is your advice to anyone considering applying to perform at one of our upcoming expos?

Pick a character that is already inside of you.

Really excited, I really love my piece and can't wait to share it with everyone else as well as watching all the other brilliant performances.

Tell us about your audition piece, and how you felt posting it?

I used this piece 3 years ago, shortly after the birth of my child, when all your hormones are flowing. I knew I wanted to revisit the character and see her through a new lens. I was nervous but thought so. If not now, when?

What was your reaction when you found out you'd been picked by our panel of judges?

I couldn't believe my eyes, I watched the reveal video about 10 times!

How are you feeling about your upcoming performance at the virtual expo?

Excited to perform in this medium, technical bits aside. All the world's a stage!

What will you be performing, and why did you pick this piece?

I will be performing my audition piece. It is a piece I can play around with, something I know will adapt on the day depending on my environment. A girl who uses sarcasm to deflect from the pain, a young girl trying to figure it all out. I was always told I'm good at comedy, but funny is what I do in my day to day. Sometimes we just want to cry, to scream, to talk everything out with a friend, and that's what this monologue does for me. It is freedom.

What is your advice to anyone considering applying to perform at one of our upcoming expos?

Oh do it! Absolutely. It gives you confidence within yourself, as an actor I am still learning to believe in myself, but I think it is so important. It's a scary thought, I know I will be performing with butterflies corrupting my stomach, but that's the joy of it, it shows how much we love what we do. Apply, you never know what could happen, who you will meet and the love you will have for yourself after giving it a go.
