Join industry leading directors Tim Kent and BAFTA-winning Jon East for an exclusive insight into the life of an actor on screen. With a combined experience of directing and producing on over 500 projects, and working with some of the world’s leading talent, Tim and Jon are going to talk candidly about their expectations of a screen actor, while offering their advice on entering the scene if you’re a beginner through the opportunities available at Actors Studio. There will be a chance to ask both of these experienced directors your burning questions.

Jon East is a BAFTA winning DGA director with over 30 years’ experience in the international film and television industry. In addition to film editing, storyboarding, writing and story-lining, Jon’s early career included executive producing and commissioning for the BBC. For direction, he has been BAFTA nominated twice and won the award for ‘That Summer Day’, which addressed the July 2005 London bombings. Based in the UK, Jon has worked with some of the world’s leading talent, such as Paul Giamatti, Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, William Hurt, Shirley MacLaine, Maggie Smith, Katherine Langford, Molly Parker, Rowan Atkinson, Lennie James, Parker Posey, Paloma Faith and Jack Bannon.

Jon’s recent work includes directing the Golden Glove winning ‘Killing Eve’, ‘Downton Abbey’, ‘The Last Kingdom’ and Netflix’s ‘Lost In Space’.

Tim Kent is a multi-award-winning director with over 25 years’ experience working at the forefront of the British film industry. After running a successful talent agency in London’s West End for 12 years, representing many household names, in 2008 his focus shifted towards directing and producing films while coaching screen acting. Tim has directed over 300 projects including showreels and award-winning films for which his talent has been recognised internationally. In 2016 his film ‘Prowler’ won the prestigious Best British Film at the Portsmouth International Film Festival gaining victory over 500 other entries, including feature length films. In 2013 ‘Two Persons Max’ won the Award of Excellence at the Los Angeles Movie Awards and in 2012 ‘At Your Service’ received a Best Film nomination at the London Independent Film Festival.

Based at the legendary Pinewood Studios, Tim and his company Actors Studio is surrounded by a thriving community of the most influential filmmakers in the world, including Academy Award winners.
