Diversity and Equality in Casting
In recent years diversity and equality has been in the media spotlight across many industries including Film & TV. For so long a star performers inclusion can be enough to get a project made even when they don’t particularly fit the background or characteristics of a character. Tiffany will discuss the importance of getting more inclusive stories on screen and getting the right talent for the roles, even undiscovered talent! Striving for better diversity and equality in casting means members of minority communities can become household names.

Tiffany Little Canfield, CSA is a casting director for theatre, film and television at the bi-coastal casting office Telsey + Company. Some notable projects include This Is Us, Fosse/Verdon, Mary Poppins Returns, Atypical, Smash, The Intern, Into the Woods, and Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. She received the Independent Spirit Robert Altman Award for her work on Margin Call in 2012. She was also nominated for several Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Casting. Tiffany has a BFA in Directing from the School of Drama at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
