Sarah Wilson & Matilda James will be discussing how they look for fresh talent for their projects, where they look and their advice for actors facing their first auditions. They will be discussing the joys of working with undiscovered talent!

Sarah Wilson

Sarah Wilson is a Liverpool based Casting Associate with over 9 years experience, specialising in Film and TV. Recent credits include Augustine Frizzell’s ‘The Last Letter from Your Lover’, Francis Lee’s ‘Ammonite’ and TV Series ‘Brassic’ for Sky.

Sarah trained under Fiona Weir and Alice Searby, working on David Yates’ film franchise ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’. She has worked extensively with director Roger Michell on his films ‘My Cousin Rachel’, ‘Blackbird’ and ‘The Duke’ and John Crowley on ‘Brooklyn’ (feature) and ‘Life After Life’ for the BBC.

Sarah is currently co-casting feature film ‘The Bank of Dave’ with Fiona Weir, directed by Chris Foggin.

Matilda James CDG

Originally from Cornwall, Matilda was Head of Casting for Shakespeare’s Globe in London between 2012-2017 where she was also Associate Producer on the Globe’s Shakespeare 400 film project, THE COMPLETE WALK.

Since then, casting for screen includes BENJAMIN and POND LIFE, and for stage, FARINELLI AND THE KING in the West End and on Broadway where it was nominated for 5 Tony Awards. She is currently working as CD and co-producer with writer/director Pascal Bergamin on his feature PORTRAITS OF DANGEROUS WOMEN, as well as on several shorts.

Matilda specialises in casting, dramaturgy and strategic planning across the creative arts and is also Executive Producer of Citizens of the World Choir, a choir for people seeking sanctuary and asylum.
