Intimacy On Set
With theatre, TV, and film demanding ever more nudity and sexual content, how do actors work to serve the production, whilst feeling safe and secure? Ita will be drawing from her experience on set on shows such as Netflix’s Sex Education, to give you an overview of an Intimacy Director’s role on set to support actors.
Ita is an Intimacy Coordinator and Movement Director for film, television, and theatre.
For the last five years Ita has been developing best practice when working with intimacy, scenes with sexual content, and nudity in film, TV, and theatre – the ‘Intimacy on Set’ guidelines. Ita pioneered the role of Intimacy Coordinator, which is gaining adoption in leading production houses, including HBO, Netflix, and the BBC.
Ita’s work has been featured widely in the media, including The Guardian, The New York Times, The Telegraph, The Irish Times, Cosmopolitan, The Evening Standard, The Stage, The Sunday Times, BBC, NBC, Radio New Zealand, ABC, and RTE.
Ita founded Intimacy on Set to provide trained professional Intimacy Coordinators to the industry.
