What Casting Directors Want?
Actors often hide their imperfections, thinking it’s not what casting directors and people in the industry want to see. Paradoxically, it’s those very imperfections that make an actor unique. This seminar goes into what’s at the heart of what is one-of-a-kind about you to make a real difference in all aspects of your professional work and connections.
Caroline has cast studio features, independent films, television series/pilots for Paramount, Twentieth Century Fox, Disney Studios, Sony, Warner Bros, Nick Jr, ABC, CBS, NBC, The CW and Fox. Her latest film, the thriller Rust Creek, can be seen on Showtime. She worked with Disney Studios’ casting department overseeing feature films such as, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Pearl Harbor, and Gangs of New York, among others. She served as head of casting for the award-winning Jimmy Kimmel Live! and contributed her keen eye for talent on Assassin’s Creed III & Far Cry; X-Men 2 and Blade Trinity round out her continuing love for casting global blockbusters, hard-hitting dramas with a sense of humor, and character-driven projects. She is a member of ATAS, serves on the National Board of Directors of CSA, and is a co-founder of the Village Acting Studio, Burbank.
Cambria Hankin started working under the tutelage of Lisa Pantone in 2004 in film, TV, and commercial casting and soon branched out on her own in theatrical casting which is now her primary focus.
Since that time, Ms. Hankin has worked with many well-respected directors such as Mercedes Bryce Morgan, Daniel Reisinger, Anthony C. Ferrante, Don E. Fauntleroy, Nick Lyon, Peter Paul Basler, Fred Olen Ray, Chris Olen Ray, Jared Cohen, Richard Gabai, Roxy Shih, and Natasha Kermani. Additionally, she has worked with many well-established Producers such as: K. Asher Levin, Zack Imbrogno, Dioni Vasquez, David Latt, David Rimawi, Paul Bales, Jeff Lam, Raymond Hauserman, and Marina Bespalov. Ms. Hankin has also worked with Production Companies including: The Asylum, VH1, Lifetime, Crypt TV, Adult Swim, Fedora Films, SyFy, Lone Suspect, SnapChat, and Aldamisa Entertainment.
Cambria is an advocate for animals and, when she’s not busy casting, she has dedicated many hours to dog rescue. Through her hard work and dedication she has saved over 300 dogs.
